Scott Snyder Set to Leave DC Comics’ “Swamp Thing”
According to a recent report on Bleeding Cool, it appears as though Scott Snyder will soon be leaving his position as the writer of DC Comics’ “Swamp Thing.” The report arrives on the heels of the abrupt news that Gail Simone will be leaving “Batgirl”, although Snyder’s departure appears to have occurred in a much different fashion (see earlier story).
DC Comics has announced that they will be releasing a 1,216-page hardcover that will collect all 52 of DC Comics first issues from their ‘relaunched’ DC Universe. The collection, titled DC Comics: The New 52, will be released in December with a cover price of $150 and will feature such books as Justice League #1 by Geoff Johns and Jim Lee, Action Comics #1 by Grant Morrison and Rags Morales, Batman #1 by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, Green Lantern #1 by Geoff Johns and Doug Mahnke, and Swamp Thing # 1 by Scott Snyder and Yanick Paquette, and all of the other 47 number one issues.
DC Comics writer Scott Snyder is most certainly one of the finest writers that DC’s had the good fortune to be working with these past few years. His work on American Vampire, Detective Comics and Batman: Gates of Gotham has secured him a loyal following of readers that is sure to expand as he takes on Batman and Swamp Thing with the DC Comics relaunch underway.
